Managing Director Seed Operations


Leading towards strategic growth

We are looking for a motivating, inspiring and experienced Managing Director Seed Operations to lead and develop all global Seed Operations related activities and locations.

Board of directors

The Managing Director Seed Operations has a seat in the Board of Directors and is, together with other Board members, responsible for successful leading, developing and growing Enza Zaden. This position is also involved in the formulation and execution of Enza Zaden’s vision and strategy and is, together with other Board members, responsible for the overall company results.

What are you going to do?

The Managing Director Seed Operations is end-responsible for the formulation and implementation of the Seed Operations strategy, Operational excellence and most and for all to engage, empower, lead and develop the Management Team. You are end responsible for the world wide Seed Operations P&L and reports to the Supervisory Board.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Optimal planning and execution of seed supply operations (production, processing and quality control of seeds) based on sales forecasts;
  • Continuous improvement of performance and activities with project and process (lean) management tools and support;
  • Representation of Enza Zaden at relevant organizations (e.g. Plantum, ESA, ISF, Naktuinbouw);
  • Compliance with relevant global and local laws and regulations;
    Optimal implementation and usage of ERP systems.

Your power

We are looking for a motivating and inspiring Seed Operations executive with the ability to engage, empower and develop people. You are capable to develop and implement the Seed Operations strategy and able to build bridges between the different disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge, experience, and characteristics:

  • Significant international experience and responsibility on management or executive level in Seed Operations or related functions, preferably in vegetables or field crops;
  • Affinity with R&D (Breeding, Seed Technology), Process and Project management, Quality Assurance and Automation;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, meet mutual goals and attain desired results in a very dynamic and multi and inter-disciplinary environment;
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership profile that fosters productivity, operational excellence, continuous improvement and high-quality work in Seed Operations.
